What to do?? Ingrown toenail?
I had an ingrown toenail and i cut it several days in a row (i thought i got it out) but now the side of my toe is very red and it really hurts. Could it be infected?? Are there any home treatments that can help?? Thanks!What to do?? Ingrown toenail?

You are a grown up now... Do something like a french manicure. If you want a little something ';more'; you might want to add a few crystals. But don't look like you've aged but never left hs.

Is the pain AFTER tolerable?
Or is it REALLY sore?
Im getting it done tomorrow...they are putting me asleep.
IM REALLY SCARED.

Step 2 = ive had it without antiseptic.
Step 3 = You wont feel a thing
Step 4 = if im wrong, you can look out the windows and see some pigs flying!!!

It hurts a bit, but it is definitely tolerable. I was not put to sleep for mine, they just numbed my toes and bandaged them up after wards... I even drove myself home :)
Don't be scared, it is not bad... Just make sure you wear flip flops or open toed shoes so that you don't have anything pressing on them. Also, they may tell you to soak your feet in warm water with Epsom salts. That feels nice and helps keep them clean :)

How can I get rid of painful ingrown toenails?

Once toenails are ingrown there is nothing that will cure them other than surgery. The surgery does not take long and does not stop you from walking it is also done under a local anaesthetic. Go and see your doctor and get him to refer you to a specialist. If left untreated you run the risk of getting infected ingrowing toenails.

Keep it peroxided and bandaged to keep dirt out. You will more than likely lose that nail. It'll grow back in a few months after it falls off. Let it do it on it's own.

We've tried several different things bought over the counter to get rid of fungus under the toenails and we just can't seem to find one that works. I took the one prescribed by a doctor, sorry I can't remember the name of it, but it was a pill, and it took 3 months, but it worked. Ask your doctor about the pills tho, they were very expensive, but like I said, they worked, and it hasn't come back in over 4 years. In the meantime, try ';sanding'; down your toenails with a nail file. You can only cure it with a persciption. The over the counter meds do not work. This is a very common medical condition. You need to take the medication that you'll be given for about a year and you are not suppose to consume alcohol when taking it. Good luck!
