There is a fungus among us. The only way to cure it is see a podiatrist and get strong medicine. The over the counter cr*p doesn't work and you'll just be wasting money and time. You have a fungus. My husband's had one for two years. He paints the nail with a prescription he got from the doctor but it hasn't gone away. The tiny bottle of prescription costs $75. I wish you better luck than he has had.
Its probably a fungus, i'd go to the doctor to get rid of it quickly. If you can't get to a doctor, try using tea tree oil on it. You can find this at most drug stores or health food stores.
