if red it more than likely is infected. I can usually trim mine back but not always. About the only thing that is a complete cure is to have at least part of the nail removed. You any also get some nail softiner and when the nail has softened put a little cotten under the edge and try to get the nail to lift and grow that way. I realy feel for you as I have been fighting them for years on both big toes

What to do?? Ingrown toenail?
I had an ingrown toenail and i cut it several days in a row (i thought i got it out) but now the side of my toe is very red and it really hurts. Could it be infected?? Are there any home treatments that can help?? Thanks!What to do?? Ingrown toenail?
