If it still hurting a month later you should call your doctor. It should have felt better within a couple days. You may have developed an infection.
I had 2. It depends on how bad it was. If he did the thing where he takes out the side of the nail, then it will always look different but not totally noticable. The doctor may have put this chemical on it that keeps that side of the nail from growing back. I had that done and my toenail still looks normal. Don't worry about it, it will heal up soon.
I had the same surgery 4 years ago. The first effects are gone in a couple of weeks. As for the toenail~ it still has not grown back like they said it would.
