How can I get rid of painful ingrown toenails?

I've tried cutting straight across but there's still the ingrown toenail embedded into my toe. It hurts to bad sometimes. Especially if I accidentally hit my toe on something it feels like I've been shot in the toe. Any ideas? How can I get rid of painful ingrown toenails?
I had that problem,it was so bad i had to go to the doc for it. he cut it out and ';killed'; part of my nail so it wont grow. you cant tell and the problem is gone. How can I get rid of painful ingrown toenails?
Once toenails are ingrown there is nothing that will cure them other than surgery. The surgery does not take long and does not stop you from walking it is also done under a local anaesthetic. Go and see your doctor and get him to refer you to a specialist. If left untreated you run the risk of getting infected ingrowing toenails.
Ewwww!! So sorry you're going through this!!

Hope it helps!!

If not---GO TO A DOCTOR! :)
Try soaking your feet in warm water for twenty minutes three times a day. If your toe is red or warm to touch you may want to see your doctor or a podiatrist for some antibiotics. Good luck.
Go to doctors and explain your problem, it happens to alot of people you know. Once you have them cut down keep them short and your problem will not return.

good luck
ummm how about going to the dr who can cut it out!
Go to your doctor, they'll anesthetize the toe and remove the nail. It'll grow back within a few months, so it's not a long term loss.
